Hi everybody. It’s Christina Daves with this week’s Get Famous Friday PR Tip. This week I want to share with you the process of pitching the media. Because people are always like, “I don’t know what to do.”
I’ve told you lots of ways to create a pitch and what to do. But basically you send in an email with your pitch. You’ve got your hook. You’ve got your newsworthy story. You’ve got the right person. Send it in. Make it short and sweet. I wait two to three days to follow up with a phone call. Usually you’re going to get a voicemail. You’re going to leave a voicemail saying you’re going to resend the email to get it to the top of their inbox. Then you’re going to resend the email. If anything’s changed, you can add to your story, especially if you’re doing some newsjacking. If it’s newsworthy put that in the email as well and send it off and that’s it. It really is that easy to pitch . Two emails and a phone call and be consistent. You know there’s another video on consistency and pitching that you really should watch. But that’s it.
So that is this week’s Get Famous Friday PR Tip. If you like this tip and you’d like to learn more to get more visibility for your business, please join our PR challenge. There’s no cost to join. It’s at YourPRChallenge.com. It is 10 days, maybe 10 minutes a day. I say 10 minutes a day. It’s really probably not even that long that will take you step-by-step through branding through really positioning yourself as an influencer – local media national media – and like I said in 10 days, we will help you get massive visibility for your business. So I can’t wait to see you in the Challenge and I can’t wait to see you in the media.
