Hey there! it’s Christina Daves with this week’s Get Famous Friday PR Tip. This week I want to talk about monitoring social media. You would be surprised how active journalists are, mainly on Twitter, but also on LinkedIn. And what a great way it is to see what they need, what they’re talking about.
One of my clients, actually several clients, but one very recently, was just monitoring something on Twitter, following a reporter and he needed need something super quick, like in an hour and she jumped in. She was able to get on television that way. So monitor that. That’s how I got on FOX for the first time. I actually just tweeted at an anchor after she put something out. So, you know pick your five or six journalists that are really top on your list, like really who you want to get involved with, and not just journalists, but also the producers if they’re on there and follow them. You know, put them – we should have a video on Twitter lists – you’ll put them in a Twitter list. And follow them, monitor them, so you can be that resource if they’re in a crunch and need that.
